Making Journaling Photos or informational photos is a great way to record, keep, and display memories. They look great on social media pages but are especially useful for scrapbooks or social media Memory accounts.
Journaling photos are a combination of photos and information. The purpose of a Journaling photo is to record, share, and preserve information. The action of creating a visual background for this information will help to draw in your target audience by making the information more visually appealing.
In this post, I will give you some examples of how Journaling photos can be created to document a baby’s birth, but these Journaling photos could be used to document all kinds of events or occasions
You can use Journaling photos to record information about :
- Weddings or Anniversaries
- Life celebrations or to record genealogies
- Children’s Birthdays along with their year’s milestones
- Education or church events and activities
- And so much more….
Newborn Journaling Photo Examples
Now let’s get started with some examples of Journaling photos by using the event of a baby’s birth.
I have created newborn information photos using three different backgrounds to show how the same information can be presented in different ways .
Each time I started by adding a background photo.
- A Newborn Photo
- A Teddy Bear Photo
- A Blue Colored Background and frame (no actual photo here)
Next, I faded the background picture by using the opacity settings. (I used the textgram app to create these photos put you can find an opacity setting on most photo editing apps. You can see a list of my favorite photo editing apps here.) By fading your background you make sure that it stays in the background and doesn’t compete too heavily with the information you are sharing through text.
FADING COLORED BACKGROUNDS
You may not need to fade colored backgrounds unless you are just trying to achieve a certain shade. If you like a bright shade then just experiment with different text colors until you find one that shows well against the background
Then I used the text settings to add the newborn’s birth information over top of the background image. Be sure to experiment with your text settings until you happy with the way your text looks against your background. You can change text settings like:
- Font style
- Font size
- Opacity settings
- And more
You can help your text stand out from your background by changing the font color to a contrasting color. If your background is light choose a dark font color. Or, choose a light font color for a dark background. If you are haveing a hard time finding the perfect shade of the color you want, choose a darker shade and then use the opacity setting to lighten it.
Making these Journaling photos is a creative way to keep, record, and display all of your child’s milestones and memories. Give these Journaling photos a try and then share your creation in the comments. I can’t wait to see what his come up with.
